Energy Transition isn’t on our agenda only for #TransitionTuesdays. Still, we do hope that you were following those because you surely already know about our work on the socio-ecological transformation of the region.
That is why we are happy to announce our first online events reflecting on the energy transition, six months after the Green Agenda for the Western Balkans adoption and ahead of the EU’s Fit for 55 package. Together with our partners, we are organizing two briefings to share the developments on this urgent matter. #savethedate
On May 6, with Energy Community Secretariat, we will share the product developed by the Secretariat to track the matching of the political pledges to policies and measures. With findings from Agora Energiewende
and FES SOE studies (hint: #TransitionTuesdays), we will see why the region cannot ignore the EU’s 2030 target and 2050 plans for climate neutrality.
We will show why building lignite-fired power plants is already a thing of the past and the (un)surprising results on understanding of the inclusive energy transition role in the transformation from coal to a clean power system. We will conclude with the next steps of the Regional Cooperation Council – RCC
, which is turning policy act to implementation of the Green Agenda for the Western Balkans.
